– Use Case Description

From Country Manager in Start-Up to Head of Omnichannel Expansion in emerging countries for an international large-scale retail group, there is only one step.

To develop the activity of Carrefour India, after 3 years of presence and recruitment of a small local team and the succession of 2 management teams without any store opening, it was necessary to review the implementation methods, with both a marketing and a commercial point of view, according to the Group Finance and Strategy Department.

To support Emerging Countries CEO Thierry Garnier and Managing Director Jean-Noël Bironneau, a real “Swiss Army Knife” was essential, agile enough to operate at the strategic level and at the operational level.

Why me: Dynamic and flexible, versatile and able to manage several projects at the same time, I have an intrapreneurial spirit and above all the ability to quickly acquire a very good knowledge of my environment and the market of the country to which I am deployed, because I am put interest above all in people, in what they use in their daily life, because they are my future clients.

The varied aspect of the assignments entrusted to me provided me with a stimulating daily life. Like an entrepreneur supporting his business in the early stages of his life, I had to gain the confidence of leaders with long service in External Operations as well as Indians colleagues, manage the implementation of a coherent strategy (where, when and how open) when I had never set foot in India before, manage partnerships, in particular for quality data, touch on demographic prospective and territorial development, GIS geomarketing and CRM, community offer (religions, languages ​​and castes guiding the offer) and customer communication in order to ensure that the products / services are correctly adressed.

In this new country with 36 states and territories each populated like France, so endearing but known to be difficult, the pressure is at its peak, because my decisions and the results I will achieve depend on the success of this settlement.
